PM Narendra Modi visits Shiva temple in Oman

MUSCAT: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today mentioned he felt exceptionally blessed following praying at the 125-calendar year- aged Shiva Temple in Muscat, a single of the oldest in the location.

Modi, who arrived in this article from Dubai on the final leg of his three-nation tour, visited the temple situated in the Matrah place listed here.

“Feeling particularly blessed to pray at the Shiva temple in Muscat,” the key minister tweeted.

“PM @narendramodi executed Abhishekam at the historic Lord Shiva temple at Muscat and interacted with the members of the Temple Administration Committee,” Ministry of Exterior Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

The temple was created 125 years in the past by the service provider local community from Gujarat and was subsequently renovated in 1999.

It has a few deities — Shri Adi Motishwar Mahadev, Shri Motishwar Mahadev and Shri Hanumanji. In the course of auspicious days far more than 15,000 devotees pay a visit to the temple for prayers.

The prime minister also posed for team images with the temple administration officials and the Indian group members.

He also visited the legendary Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the major mosque of Oman. It was inaugurated in 2001.
